Our Mission Statement

The Alcohol and Drug Addiction Services Board of Cuyahoga County plans, monitors, and evaluates alcohol and other drug services that encourage wellness, prevention, and recovery for the residents of Cuyahoga County.

The Board is a county government agency that administers federal, state, and local funding for substance abuse prevention and treatment services. Currently, the Board contracts with a network of over 50 agencies that provide over 100 programs for the residents of Cuyahoga County. Together, these agencies represent a continuum of care from prevention and early intervention to residential, outpatient, and aftercare treatment services. The Board’s annual budget is $34 million. An 18-member Board of Trustees, comprised of appointed community leaders, provides policy direction for a staff of 33.

Our Vision Statement

The Alcohol and Drug Addiction Services Board of Cuyahoga County will be a nationally recognized leader establishing systems of care that promote best practices through a seamless network of providers. We will be known for our success in developing a variety of strategic alliances to achieve our mission and improve our local system of care. The organization supports a local advocacy focus and will increase visibility in our communities and at the state and national levels. We will aggressively advocate to reduce stigma, increase access to needed services and to operate independently. Our Board of Trustees will be well-informed and demonstrate their investment in and understanding of alcohol and other drug services in their decision-making. Our staff will be solution-focused and will creatively share ideas and exchange information to advance the Board’s mission. We will pursue excellence in all we do.

Recovery Month

September is National Alcohol & Drug Addiction Recovery Month

Substance use disorders can affect anyone - all ages, races, and communities. Moreover, substance use disorders can be effectively treated, just as numerous other chronic conditions such as high blood pressure, asthma and diabetes. Through treatment and long-term recovery from alcohol and/or other drug dependence, millions of Americans and their families have been able to reclaim their lives, contribute fully to their communities and help further the powerful message that recovery is possible.

The ADASBCC invites you to Join the Voices for Recovery: Real People. Real Recovery. Click here for information about Northeast Ohio's Celebration on Saturday, September 27.
